Banham Community Centre came to us for a quality flooring solution that would stand up to the test of time as well as various sporting and leisure activities, whilst still staying inside their budget. After sending out one of our resident John Doe commercial flooring experts to their site, we came up with a bespoke package to meet all of Banham Community Centre’s needs and requirements.
As their original wooden floor; Premium Grade Silver Sport 22mm Solid Beech, had served them so well over the years and had lasted such a long time, they asked if we could find the same floor to replace it with. Fortunately, we were able to do so and went on to replace the old floor that they knew they could trust with an exact match.
Due to Banham Community Centre having an underfloor heating system already in place, we had to lay the Premium Grade Silver Sport 22mm Solid Beech flooring on a specialist underfloor heating underlay in order to allow the floor to breathe.
The corridors at Banham Community Centre are the areas that see the most day-to-day traffic. As a result, we needed to source a hard-wearing floor that could meet the challenge head on. We found a robust Flotex carpet, the kind that is used in hospital day rooms, as the perfect solution. This is a gel-back carpet, so even if you spill a glass of red wine all over it, it will just sit on top until wiped away.
Banham Community Centre have a very busy schedule, so we had to plan our work to fit around their day-to-day itinerary. Taking all of this into careful consideration, a working plan was drawn out and agreed on. The whole job was completed over the space of 10 working days [2 weeks] and we sent a total of 6 fitters; 3 carpenters [specialist wood fitters] and 3 of our commercial flooring specialists.
